For the record, Marvin and Hannie's baby's name is
Gerad Johannes!
Gerad after Opa Neels and Johannes after Hannie's only uncle on her mothers side
GERAD in sign language:
Quick update:
~they have been able to see him, or what you can see of him, as there are lots of wires and tubes attached to his small body.
~they are keeping him sedated,
~his vitals are showing good readings!
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches,
and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

Hi Marv and Hannie:
We are all sitting here in Andy's office reading the blog. We wish you all the best in the coming days with little Gerad.
From all your brothers and sisters in Chwk, BC
Dear Marvin and Hannie,
Jer called me as soon as he knew that the surgery had gone well...our time just after 1:00. I was so worried when he called...what a relief that all is well so far!!! We are really living along with you out here, even though we're so far away. We think about it all the time. Deanna and Karianna were so worried about him when I told them. "Gerad's very sad," Deamma said...."very ouwies," Karianna said with her eyes all big and nodding furiously. It must be so hard for you, and yet there is a lot of hope. We wish both of you strength for the time to come. Lots of love, Jer and Mar, Deanna, Karianna, and Gerald.
