Not only did Gerad get moved into the room next door, but he has a real crib now, which makes him look small.He was wearing his touque (hat) again. The nurse said that his cathedar is out now and maybe his chest drain will come out today too! His oxygen level was a bit low overnight so they did have to insert a temporary oxygen tube in his nostrils just till he can maintain his own levels by himself. Other than that the nurses are happy with him, they said he had a good night and seems comfortable.
So, if all goes well, maybe within a few days they can go up to the fourth floor, which means a room with just mom, dad and baby!!!! And where holding and hugging is greatly encouraged!!!
They continue to lower his medications to slowly wean him off.

Johan and I had a safe flight back home.
I am very thankfull for the time we could spend together.

When I heard the news that Gerad was off the ventilator,
I just wanted to fly right back and take a peek at him.
Gerad is treasured in all our hearts, and with all the updates here we feel as if we are still there.
