Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing BY PRAYER and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Php 4:6,7
This morning the doctors closed little Gerad's chest but at 1:00 this afternoon his numbers were not good at all causing hypertension, possibly due to his heart not having so much room now, since his chest is closed. The doctors were ready to open it again, but thankfully his vital signs started to show better numbers!
He received more blood, calcium and they are minimizing his fluid intake so he won't retain too much fluid which is common after closing of his chest. He now has two strings attached to his chest to give his heart more room. If you go back to the post from last saterday you can see a blue string going through the white sterile cloth and up, hanging from his heating lamp. He now has two strings. They are keeping him under complete sedation.
Pray for little Gerad! And for Marvin and Hannie!

Dear Marvin and Hannie,
I am sorry to hear you have to go through so much emotional ups and downs. I hope and pray that Gerad may continue to do better and that you may soon be able to hold him.

Hi Marv and Hannie,
We're just checking the blog out here in Lethbridge, and see that Gerard's chest is closed now, but that its still very scary and critical, we sincerely wish and pray everything will go well in the next few days, you're constantly in our thoughts and prayers.
Love Andy, Christa and kids.
Hello Marvin, Hannie, and baby Gerad,
We've never met, but I've heard 'about your little guy from Ontario who has the same thing is our baby!!' We too have a little guy who has HLHS and has undergone surgeries. Your blog is a great way to keep everyone who knows you (and even those who don't) up to date with Gerad's contion. Thanks for sharing that. I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you guys and your little fighter. Praying that everything continues to go well. Sometimes it's one step forward and two steps back, but hang in there!!
Sherilyn Rosendal, mother of Riley (2) with HLHS.
P.S. I was looking for an email address that i could contact you directly. If you have one, maybe you could post it on here if you don't mind, or somehow reply to this post. You probably don't have much time, but Riley has a carepage if you're interested. There are posts and pictures on it as well. Take care!!
Hello Sherilyn!
It's so nice of you to leave a comment and I am very sure Marvin and Hannie appreciate it too! If you would like to email them, go to my profile and click on 'EMAIL'. That links you directly to her email box!
God Bless you and your little Riley!
warmly, Gerad's tante (aunt) Bou

Dear Marv and Hannie
When I read the last update aboutyour little Gerad, and when I see the picture of you standing above him, I can feel the pain you,re feeling that you both have to go through this, especially from your first child.Bring all your needs to Jesus.
-He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,He sendeth more strenght when the labors increase.
To added affliction He addeth His mercy. To multiplied trials,He multiplied peace.
His love has no limit,His grace has no measure. His power has no boundary know unto men.
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,He giveth and giveth again!-
With prayers in our hart
